The Structural Reliability Module (SRM)
The SRM accepts inputs from the CCTV as cracks, open joints, surface damage, deformation, holes and fractures.
It performs finite element analyses to assess stresses and strains in a pipe cross-section vertical to the axis of the pipe and then determines the probability of crushing failure.
It performs analyses (beam on an elastic foundation for continuous pipes and rigid body supported by elastic springs for segmented pipes) to assess stresses and strains along the axis of the pipe and thus determine the probability of bending failure.
It performs structural analyses to assess joint forces and rotation and thus determine the probability of joint failure.
To assess the structural reliability of the pipe the following are taken into account:
-Evolution of the loading system
-Deterioration of the pipe materials properties
-Evolution of the soil-structure interactions
The considered forces on the pipe include seismic forces.
